Our story
The original on the Block.
Since 1980, JR’s has anchored the corner of Cedar Springs & Throckmorton — the beating heart of Dallas’ Oak Lawn. Before there was a whole Strip of bars to choose from, there was JR’s: a neighborhood grill by day, a roar of music, drag and dancing by night.
Burgers off the grill, stiff pours, an upstairs balcony over the best people-watching in town, and a welcome that hasn’t changed in four decades. This is where the Block began.
